Here is a
World War II US Home Front Son in Service Window Flag
.  The ubiquitous Window Flag is complete with cross bar, gold cord hanger and gold frill trim.  It features 1 blue star that indicates a loved one in service (son, usually, father, daughter, etc.).  These Son in Service Flags were as ubiquitous as the V for Victory emblem.  They were everywhere honoring loved ones in service.  If the loved one lost their life, the Blue Star Flag was replaced by a Gold Star Flag (either a new flag, or a gold star was embroidered over the blue).  The flag is made from rayon.  It is one of the more nicely preserved ones I have seen.   The Son in Service Flag is in fair condition, and is at least 77 years old, most likely older.

- Vibrant, clean colors
- Worn, crazed spots to white rayon center, couple of ink spots (I believe) to the lower left on the red trim
