Here is an highly unusual
World War II US Home Front Farm War Service Certificate
.  The Certificate was presenting to a farming family for their efforts in supplying food for the War.  It is dated 1943 and features a large, emblazoned V for Victory through the center.  It has the Department of Agriculture and Food for Freedom logos, a facsimile signature for the Secretary of Agriculture and an original signature for the local County USDA War Board.
This Certificate encapsulates the War Effort.  Everyone was involved, even home owners who raised their own "food" through small victory gardens.  The farmers were in the Food for Freedom program.  The goal was total Victory, and the V for Victory was emblazoned through every fabric of our society.  It was a time when we would only accept total victory.
The Farm War Service Certificate is 78 years old and in about fair to fair condition.  It is truly one of the very most unique Home Front items I have ever found and listed.
