    7 Journals by Oliver
    ~
    Entirely hand-written
on both sides of each page
.  Oliver was very detailed in recording how he spent his days at camp.  You will follow his routines from sun-up to sundown and everything in-between (I mean everything!).  Oliver dated the covers of the diaries.  They are mainly from the 1940's during his time in Camp Shelby/Fort Benning/Camp Blanding.  I have read many of the pages and although these journals are pre-combat, they are a historical and heartfelt read.  He does mention things like getting new gas masks and knowing they were a sign that it was getting close for what's to come. He mentioned bombers flying overhead etc.  Each journal measures 9" x 6" and contains approx. 36 pages each.
1954 Department of the Army Hand to Hand Combat Book
    .
FM21-150 Department of the Army Field Manual.  Soft Cover book, 191 pages, black and white illustrations.  Book cover shows some wear and small cut.

Lt. Bushes Platoon (Oliver is identified with an 'X" on the photo), Pit Sgt. Weapons, 1941 Blanding, FL.  Small snapshots have writing on the back and include a big gator near Blanding, soldiers eating watermelon, Municipal swimming pool, soldier bathing with clothes drying on a line.
    Hand Made Retirement Framed Memento
    - "The Salvageable Remains of a Retiring CW2".  It reads: Silver from his hair, Gold from his teeth, Lead from his ass, Gas from his stomach.  *The lead should be much larger from proper proportioning.   8" x 10" entirely hand drawn.  Pieces of metal are attached
    humorously
    signifying
    all of the salvageable remains.
    4
