    Description

I’ve been collecting aviation/space memorabilia for the last 20+ years. I've spent countless hours going to estates sales and searching on Craigslist, eBay, and other auction sites for some of the rarest aviation/space related items.
Up for bid is a pair of WW2 Douglas Aircraft C-54D/DC-4 Pilot/Co-pilot seats.  I bought these chairs at the Marana Airport, AZ.  They were removed from a retired fire fighter aircraft (see 2nd picture).  The person I bought these chairs from, their father was a firefighter pilot and flew this aircraft in the 80's.
Recently, I was informed the pair of chairs were manufactured by Warren McArthur (1885–1961). He was an American industrial and furniture designer who specialized in aluminum tubular furniture during the 1930s. The Warren McArthur Corp., which began making airplane seats along with its furniture in the late 1930s, was asked by the United States government to make aluminum aircraft seats for military airplanes. Amazing history.
Pilot and co-pilot chairs are included in this sale.
Based on the aircraft record log (
    Registration Number, 67304
