Circa 1950's Hong Kong
This elegant vintage cardigan sweater is super soft lambswool, with possibly a touch of angora, in a beautiful ivory white color. It has a charming sophisticated floral hand beaded design on the front, back and cuffs with iridescent white and pearlescent beads. The neckline and front edges have wonderful linear rows of beading. This chic cardigan closes with hidden hook and eyes.
It measures 19 1/2" across, underarm to underarm, laid flat with no stretch and is 21 1/2" long, from back of neck to hem.  The shoulders are approximately 16" across.  The sleeves are 21 1/2" from shoulder seam to sleeve hem. I would call this a Medium but please go by the measurements to insure proper fit.
The body of the sweater (not the sleeves) is lined with a beautiful lightweight pale ivory silk fabric. There is a tag under this lining at the back neckline which shows size 36. There is no maker label but this is undoubtedly a Hong Kong sweater from the 1950's.  This fabulous sweater is in excellent, pristine vintage condition. The lining is very clean with no staining.  It shows no wear. This beautiful retro (oh so Mad Men!) would be chic and sophisticated with a white t-shirt and jeans as well as a stylish and warm covering for a little black (or any color) dress. What a great addition to your summer wardrobe to take the chill off a cool evening!
