RARE 2 Page WWII German Death Card, Mountain Regiment, RARE EIDELWEISS BADGE ON HATDESCRIPTION:
Rare original 2 Page WWII German death card for a Mountain Soldier. SHOWS AN EIDELWEISS FLOWER INSIGNIA ON HIS HAT. Mountain soldiers often were associated with the mountain flower, and often wore Eidelweiss insignia of one sort or another. HOWEVER, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CARD PICTURED WITH AN EIDELWEISS FLOWER INSIGNIA ON THE FRONT OF HIS PEAKED HAT, BELOW THE EAGLE LIKE THIS, IN OVER 20 YEARS OF COLLECTING.!!
Specifically, "Albert Angerer, lance cpl. in a mountain jaeger regiment, who died from severe battle wounds in a field hospital on June 4, 1943, aged 34. He rests in the honor cemetery in Simferopol.". FULL PAGE PHOTO wearing uniform and peaked hat.
This is a must for any Mountain Troop collector. Excellent condition.
Original item over 75 years old. A nice face and a story to a soldier who otherwise would be a forgotten statistic.
No additional postage with multiple purchases.
Items are sold ONLY as historical artifacts and I respect the bans of such items in France, Austria, or any other countries where bids cannot be accepted.
.
A different, more unusual, and higher quality death card vs. the more common ones seen on EBAY.
