    Description

An interesting collection of items from a USMC Corporal who served in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
What makes this unique is that his Civilian Speed-skating medals (from Chicago) are included—offering a view into who this gentleman was before he became part of the World War II Generation.
    The arc is complete:
Civilian Young Man – U.S. Marine – Honorably Discharged Marine and member of The Greatest Generation.
    Collection Includes:
    1 x
US Navy Mark 2 Fighting Knife w/USN Mk2 Plastic Scabbard
    .
The knife is marked on the base of the Blade “USN Mark 2” and “Camillus, N.Y.”
It is marked on the rear NORD (Navy Ordnance Department) 6581 and B.M. Co (Beckwith Manufacturing Co) VP (Victory Plastics).
The knife has a Blued Blade - No nicks or chips in the blade - No pitting on the blade - The handle is in Nice Condition - A slight crack is forming on the reverse center of scabbard, near to the pointed end.
1 x Japanese Silk Flag (presents more orange-red than the red shown in the photos)
    1 x U.S. Navy - "U.S.N." - Soup Spoon - Tudor Plate - Oneida Community - with Floral Design on Handle.
"Tudor Plate" was a line of Oneida plated wares. The company was called Oneida Community, at least until 1935, when it became Oneida Ltd.
When WWII came about, the U.S. Government needed to supply all of the Armed Forces, so at times 'civilian' wares were acquired and stamped with the initials of the Branch (in this case 'U.S.N.' for the U.S. Navy) and pressed into service.
This Marine who owned the spoon 'requisitioned' it from one of the transport ships that he was on and carried it through the War.
