    Description

This is a very nice condition, rare, original issue of "Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper" from December 5, 1863. This issue contains the
complete text of Abraham Lincoln's GETTYSBURG ADDRESS
, as well as a first-hand reporter's account of the "celebration" ("The day was lovely; the sky unclouded, and all around seemed to harmonise in quiet beauty with the solemn occasion...At the close President Lincoln addressed the assembly:  'Fourscore and seven years ago...'"). Also featured in this issue is a wonderful 2-page centerfold with various detailed engravings (7 in all) of the "dedication ceremony," including a terrific panoramic illustration of "The consecration of the Great National Ceremony near Gettysburg, Thursday, Nov. 19, by Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, and his cabinet."
