FOSSIL PLATE OF SEA SHELLS ORTHID BRACHIOPODS

Description

This matrix has numerous sea shell looking brachiopods on it. The brachiopods are on both sides of the rock.   These look like the common sea shells with the fan shape and ridges. The brachiopods are from the Fillmore formation early Ordovician period 478 million years ago. They are Orthid brachiopods. This specimen comes from Millard County Utah. These show up real well in the matrix and catch the eye. The rock is 7 by 4   inches.  The specimen weights 1 pound 10
ounces.
