    Description

Early 20th C. Carved Wooden Pipe Tamper with Two Caged Balls, Chippewa Tribe
    45 cm length
Featuring a band with dyed medium blue, dark blue, and yellow plaited porcupine quillwork. Colored staining on caged balls, rings, and end ornament.
Provenance: 1993 Parsons Trading Post, Wisconsin Dells
Because of the porcupine quillwork I will not be able to sell this item to my wonderful Canadian neighbors since I've had two pieces taken by customs. Not sure what the trouble with porcupines is but it's frustrating for both myself and my clients up north.
