BMW ISETTA 300 (SLIDING WINDOW) REAR END RELOCATION KIT

Here is a kit to make your Isetta run trouble free drive couplings. Never worry about breaking a drive coupling and tearing up your transmission cover and rear end again. The power transmitted to the drive wheels increases due to less work required to turn the couplings on a heavy offset. I have installed this kit on over 25 Isettas and the results are very noticeable. Look at the first picture and see how the relocated rear end lines up the drive shaft. The second and third picture is what you get in the kit. The fourth and fifth pictures is the start of damage to transmission side cover caused when NOT using the relocation kit. The sixth picture is one of my recent restorations that has the relocation kit installed. I have installed kits on cars after this old style drive coupling broke within 20 miles. The kits come with two heavy duty drive couplings and a new modified and stronger link that connects the chain case to the frame. The link also has brand new bushings in it. All you need to do is remove the leaf springs, with a mallet, pound the two bottom leafs forward enough to drill a new hole in them exactly 1 inch forward. Then realign them back into the main stack using the new holes. Then put in the new link and reinstall the driveshaft with the new heavy duty couplings. You can see. The price is 5, just a little more than buying two old style couplings and run the risk of breaking them and destroying your transmission and/or more. You can leave the rear end in place as you remove the leaf springs. I have done the conversion in less than 2 hours. This is one of the best things you can do to your sliding window Isetta. And for those that have a bubble window, you will notice that the driveshaft lines up from the factory. Nobody knows why they changed the design, but it wasn't too good of an idea. You wonder why there are so many torn up transmission covers? It's because of breaking these old style couplings.
The top speed of one car that was tested with the relocation kit increased by almost 11 mph with this upgrade.
