Antique Chinese Bone Dagger And Scabbard, elephant head carvings
Superb antique Chinese hand carved bovine bone dagger and scabbard with dragon decoration and double elephant heads at the ends.
Some of the carvings have been specially stained and painted. It sits on a rosewood stand, and comes in a fabric lined box .
The blade is also made of bone.
The only "default" I can find is that the blade does not stay flush with the scabbard when closed, it is a little loose and sits a little askew, leaving a small gap (about 1/16th"). It fits very well in it and can be maintained tightly closed by hand but does not stay there on its own.
