Amazing WW2 Reporter Grouping - 1941 Colonel Weidman Hollywood Legend LOOK !!!!This is another WW2 reporter grouping. This guy though was more prominent than that fellow from before. This is a collection of paperwork, photographs, and other items that belonged to a guy named Charles J. Weidman. In 1941, he was the business editor at the Chicago Tribune. When the war broke out he became a senior new director for the US Army with the rank of colonel. He ran the Los Angeles branch of the Army News Service and worked a lot with celebrities doing propaganda work. So, if you look at things like the news reels of Clark Gable and others joining the army, you wil see this guy standing beside them which is kind of cool. These can be found on Youtube. I recommend taking a screenshot and including one with the listing should you decide to sell this. The guy had white hair and was in his 60s at the time. Photos in this grouping all have Hollywood quality to them. Among the items are a lot of things from wartime articles he arranged, such as one about an army dog serving in the Pacific who returned home with his handler as a pet, etc. There also are a lot of personal items, such as a collection of his Masonic Lodge ID cards, his letters of recommendation to the US Army from the Chicago Tribune, letters to family, pilots license, etc, along with a uniform of which there is also a photo of him wearing included. I think the celebrity connection puts a of value in this grouping along with there being an actual uniform that is shown in original photos in the grouping as well. So, if possible, would like to get 0 for this as it would go for much more than that I believe. Again, he was the main US Army guy in Hollywood and LA during the war and shows up in all these celebrity things.
Comes w his uniform also .
